I agree with what you wrote, but I am concerned about where it might lead. If we don't have more broader, more integrated scientific views, we will only see the siloed ones.

An obvious destination for integration is with neuroscience. I haven't looked at trans or queer issues, but I see the effect of neuroscience findings that don't match people's "pop" views of psychology. Neuroscience is making large, unpopular steps in understanding emotions, for instance. Non-scientists and even some scientists feel free to reject these findings, sometimes vociferously.

Along with the direction you are pointing, we need you to prepare us for scientific findings people won't like or believe. The trans and queer communities have sometimes reacted vociferously to ideas and findings that aren't popular.

When we look deeply into the world, we don't always find what we expect.
